Apple nostalgiaThis drawing is actually made using ipad 2 using two apps that are sketchbook pro by autodesk, and also snapseed.  The work of a human cannot be compared to those of Allah, he design each and every single things so perfectly that it is impossible to recapture back the moment using camera or hands of a artist. Not only the appeareance but also the biological design that is so beautiful and perfect. Cn u imagine, Allah create everything from nothing? He design everything to its very details sooo briliantly that it takes years, decades, centuries, to uncover the mysteries of the world. For example, the creation of airplane to imitate bird. How many trials have failed?

We are given by God a sense of purpose, we want to know why we exist especially when we start to realize theres nothing more of our life than just a routine.

No one can hurt you without your consent

----like a lake on the morning, when there is a mist on top of the water. Not much sound, or movement, except for the sounds of water and early birds. So, cold yet comforting---

there are regions where we have no choice or power, like how people treat us or how they behave.. or the nature like flood or tsunamis, or storms. but there are also regions where we have authority, that is how we react to all these regions that we have no power. when people mad at us for no reason, it is not natural for us to mad at him or her back. Why? because we can choose to be not mad at such unreasonable person instead seek for explanation or just ignore him or her. When a person treat us badly it is common to treat him or her badly too, but it is not natural. It is not like we have no control to decide that, we have.

-No one can hurt u without your consent- L. Roosevelt
Do u know what these phrase means?? It means can only be hurt if we allow them to hurt us. Yea, we feel hurt because we choose. No matter what the other person do to you, you have the full power over yourself not to feel hurt. Yet, this is not easy to do. But this is the truth, we decide and have the power to control.

Does Allah Love Us?

by Muhammad Alshareef

After the Prophet sal Allahu ‘alayhi wa sallam passed away, Abu Idrees Al Khawlanee (d. 80 AH/699-700 CE) in Dimishq (Damascus), went to Masjid Al-Kabeer. In the masjid he saw a group of people sitting around one man. He described the man as smiling very much and people were sitting around him asking questions. So Abu Idrees Al-Khawlanee asked, “Who is this man?”

They answered, “That is Muadh Ibn Jabal radi Allahu anhu, the companion of the Prophet sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam.”

The next day Abu Idrees Al-Khawlanee came to the masjid early in the morning, before Salaatul Fajr, thinking he was the first one to enter the masjid. But there he found Mu’adh Ibn Jabal radi Allahu anhu praying in the masjid before salah. So Abu Idrees came to Mu’adh and sat behind him and waited for him to complete his prayer. After Mu’adh completed his prayer, Abu Idrees went to him and said, “Oh Mu’adh! I love you for the sake of Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala!”

Mu’adh Ibn Jabal radi Allahu anhu pulled Abu Idrees closer and he asked him,“Aal la hu Lillah (By Allah do you love me only for the sake of Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala?)”

Abu Idrees replied, “Yes!”

At this Mu’adh Ibn Jabal radi Allahu anhu smiled and pulled him closer and said to him, “Let me give you good news, for verily I heard the Prophet sal Allaahu alayhi wa sallam say, ‘Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala said, “Wajabat Muhabbati Li Mutahaabina fiya (My love is wajib upon those who love for my sake.’”

Brothers and sisters, throughout history people have claimed that they love Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala and Allah loves them. The Christians claim that Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala loves them but Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala calls them:

The misguided (Al-Fatiha 1/7).

And the Jews claim that they love Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala but Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala says about them:

Those whom Allah is angry with (Al-Fatiha 1/7).

And so Muslims also claim that they love Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala. But whether Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala loves us, is the real question. Does Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala truly love us?

In Saheeh al-Bukhari, the Prophet sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam says:

“When Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala loves someone, he calls Jibreel and Allah then says, ‘Ya Jibreel! Inni uhibbu fulan! (Oh Jibreel! Verily, I love such and such a person, so love him!)’”

And Allah names that person and then Jibreel loves that person. Then Jibreel calls out to all the angels of the heavens and he says, “Allah loves so and so, so love him!”and so all the angels love him. And then Allah places pleasure in the hearts of the people towards this person!”

The Prophet sal Allaau alayhi wa sallam said in another narration of this hadeeth:

“The slave will continue to try to win the pleasure of Allah; he will try to win the love of Allah until Allah calls Jibreel and says to him, ‘Oh Jibreel! My slave so and so is trying to please me, verily my love has overcome him!’”

Indeed the Prophet sal Allaahu alayhi wa sallam told us in the Qur’an and the Sunnah about many people that Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala loved. And amongst the greatest people that Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala loved was Ibraheem alayhis Salaam. Allah Subhaanahu wa ta’aala said:

And Allah took Ibraheem as a Khalil (close and dear friend) (An-Nisaa’ 4/125)

When one of the companions heard the Prophet sal Allaahu alayhi wa sallam recite this in salah, he said to the Prophet sal Allaahu alayhi wa sallam, “May coolness of her eyes be the mother of Ibraheem. For who wouldn’t love for their son to be taken as the Khalil of Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala.”

And from the people that Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala loved was Ayyub alayhis salaam. Allah said:

We found him to be patient…What a beautiful(blessed) slave he is.

In Saheeh Muslim the Prophet sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam told us that a man went out once to visit his brother for the sake of Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala. On his path Allah sent an angel and the angel asked him where he was going and he said, “I am going to visit my brother for the sake of Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala.”

The angel asked him,“Do you have any other reason to go to his house?”

The man said, “I am going for no other reason than for the sake of Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala.”

Then the angel said, “Verily I give you good news; I am an angel from Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala with a message from Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala that He loves you!”

And from the people that Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala loved was Khadija radi Allahu anha. In Saheeh Al-Bukhari the Prophet sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam was sitting with Jibreel reciting the Quran and Khadija radi Allahu anha came. Jibreel turned to the Prophet sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam and said, “This is Khadija bringing you some food. Give her my salaam!”

This is Jibreel alayhis salaam giving his salaam to Khadija radi Allahu anha and then he said, “Give her the glad tidings of a home in paradise!”

What happens when Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala loves us?

Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala first and foremost will mention the name of the person, fulan ibn fulan, and then Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala will call to Jibreel and tell him that he loves this person. Not only will Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala love this person but Jibreel will also love this person. Not only Jibreel, but also the angels of the heavens and the earth will love this person. And then Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala will put the pleasure in the hearts of the people towards this person.

And if that person was to ask anything, Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala would grant what he asks for. And if he seeks refuge in Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala from anything, Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala will protect him. And a person whose case is such, his end is surely Jannah.

Brothers and Sisters on the same side of this hadeeth we also have to be aware and fear gaining the wrath of Allah. We also have to beware of the people who gain the anger of Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala. The Prophet sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam said regarding a person who angers and disobeys Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala that Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala will hate that person. And Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala will call to Jibreel and tell him, “Oh Jibreel! My servant so and so is continuing to anger me and my anger has overcome him.”

PART II

I was listening to a tape once and the shaykh was talking about stories and hadeeth dealing with children. One of the stories that he mentioned was about the Prophet sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam playing with children. The Prophet sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam was playing with Al-Husayn and then he raised him up for people to see and he said, “Allah will love those who love Al Husayn!”

So it got me thinking of other lessons from the Qu’ran and Sunnah that can give us more ideas of how to we can have Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala love us. Ibn Al-Qayyim rahimahullah actually wrote different ways we can gain Allah’s subhaanahu wa ta’aala love.

One: We need to take advantage of the third portion of the night. The Prophet sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam said:

“Every night Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala comes down to the samaa’ ad- dunya and he calls out to the people, ‘Is there anyone who will make du’a, so I may accept their du’a! Is there anyone who will ask for forgiveness, so I shall forgive them!’”

So we should take advantage of this by praying Qiyaam-ul-Layl (voluntary Night Prayer).

Two: We should also remember Allah often. Whenever we are commuting to work or standing in a line somewhere, its always our chance to remember Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala. Allah says:

Remember me and I shall remember you (Al-Baqarah 2/152)

And who does not want Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala to remember them?

Three: We should read the Qu’ran with understanding. Read what Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala revealed to us for our life and for our death. Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala says:

Will they not contemplate the Qu’ran (An-Nisaa’ 4/82)?

And Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala says:

A book we sent down…so that they may contemplate its verses (As-Saad 38/29).

Four: We should sit and be with those people who truly love Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala and spend our time with them. In Surah Al-Kahf, Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala says:

(Some) say they were three, the dog being the fourth among them; (others) say they were five, the dog being the sixth,- doubtfully guessing at the unknown; (yet others) say they were seven, the dog being the eighth (Al-Kahf 18/22).

In this verse, Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala mentions the dog of the Ahl Al-Kahf (people of the cave) over and over again. Why? It is because of the companions that the dog had, the companions that he was with that he is mentioned so many times. So if a dog is going to be mentioned in the Qur’an so many times because of his compantions, you can imagine how much Allah will love the person who chooses to spend his time with the people Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala loves. As the Prophet sal Allaahu alayhi wa sallam taught us, good companionship is like a person who sells musk. Even if the companion doesn’t give you any musk, you are going to benefit form the smell and fragrance of the musk.

Five: We should love to meet Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala. The Prophet sal Allaahu alayhi wa sallam said:

“Whoever loves to meet Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala, Allah loves to meet them!”

And no doubt if someone is going to love to meet Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala they will do good for that meeting; they will prepare for that meeting. And the one who does not want to meet Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala, is the one who has been spending his life in disobiedance. He will not love to meet Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala and Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala will not love to meet that person.

Six: We should push away everything that stands between us and Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala and Allah’s Messenger sal Allaahu alayhi wa sallam. We have to critically look at the things that we are doing in disobediance to Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala and take them and extract them out of our lives.

Seven: We should always put RasulAllah sal Allaahu alayhi wa sallam in front of us. We should always put the wishes of the Prophet sal Allaahu alayhi wa sallam before our wishes. Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala revealed in the Quran:

Say if you love Allah, then follow me. Allah will love you and forgive your sins (A’le-Imraan 3/21)

Eight: We should make patience a part of our character. As they say, a person who continues to do something will be known for that which he does. When a person is patient in his dealings in his home and at his work, then he becomes as-saabir (the patient). And Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala tells us of those who are patient:

And Allah loves those who are patient (A’le-Imraan 3/146)

Nine: We should learn Allah’s subhaanahu wa ta’aala’s asma was-sifaat (names and attributes). So when we read in the Qu’ran Ar-Rahman we should understand it’s meaning and depth and hope Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala has mercy on us. And when we read that Allah is As-Sami’ and Al-Baseer, that He is All-Hearing and All-Seeing, we should understand that Allah can see us at all times. And when we read in the Qu’ran that Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala is Shadeedul-‘Iqaab, He is severe in punishment, we will think twice before we disobey Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala and we will abstain from that action.

Ten: We should continue in doing our nawaafil (voluntary acts). In Hqdeeth Qudsi, the Prophet sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam says that Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala says:

The slave will continue to come close to me in voluntary deeds until I love him.

In the sharh (explanation) of this hadeeth, the scholars have said these are voluntary acts of all kinds. Voluntary acts of the tongue and the limbs.

A poet once said, “How can you disobey Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala and you claim that you love Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala.”

This is a very unique way of understanding. If your love of Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala is true, you will obey Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala. Verily the person who loves someone, will follow that person.

stop for a while...

sometimes, we need to stop for a while and see how much progression we have made.

we also need to remind ourself constantly with the aim we want to achieve in our life... sometimes we just tend to forget the main objective and start to focus on less important matters.
to maintain who we are is hard, so do to improve... changes are a norm, we cant avoid it.

The among the most important matter to me is to explain my own behavior or feeling. I need to know why I like, and why I hate. If I can clearly understand all this, I will become more clear with myself and will have more confidence. What are my strength? my weakness? I need to know all of it..So that I can strengthen what is weak, and take advantage of my strength. Life for me is more like a war. Your enemy is your self. The environment does shape your thinking, but a if you are strong enough, you can use the environment for your own benefit. In life, what matter is not the world i.e the external (environment), but how you interpret it...

Not only we ourself creates our own world, others too.. We see this world differently.

sometimes we have to force our self to do things that bring benefit to us, and also we have to overcome our fear. Other than that, useless pride that keep us from advancing further are also have to be thrown away. Never afraid to throw away nonsense like common sense that are narrowing the thinking.Lots of common sense we have today is not even a fact, but a mere believe that comes from movies, misinterpretation of experience, and a lot more. You do not even realize that you have adopted the believe. for instance, people may think that 1 in 20 people may have a heart attack, but in reality it is 1 in 3.

Want to be Closer to Allah, But Don't Know How!

I copy all the article so I can read it back... ( this is officially my diary) ^-^

In many Islamic circles or presentations, I am asked a similar question from my brothers and sisters: "I want to get closer to Allah, but don't know how; or I don't have the power to do it. Sometimes I can succeed in getting close to Him when I spend time with pious friends who are affecting me, but when they are no longer around, I lose that closeness. I become powerless."

Allah, the Exalted is the Best to respond to this concern:
(When My servants ask thee concerning Me, I am indeed close (to them): I listen to the prayer of every suppliant when he calls on Me: let them also, with a will, listen to My call, and believe in Me: that they may walk in the right way.) (Al-Baqarah 2:186)
As Muslims, we believe in the Word of Allah, then should we not believe in the above verse? Of course we want to believe, but what truly keeps us from believing it in our hearts and feeling it when we make supplications?
If we can imagine there is a beautiful scenery in front of us, but there is also a curtain or veil between us and the scene. We can have a glimpse of the beauty on the other side, but not all. We want to see it all, but we keep sitting in our place and do not get up to move the curtain aside so we can have a full view.
Removing the veil or curtain takes the following efforts:

First, there must be a desire;
Second, the knowhow;
Third, keeping it open for full view at all times.
Sometimes people think of wanting to be close to Allah, but the desire is not strong enough. Faith is like a seed. It must be planted in fertile soil and watered. It is a process that would take time and determination.
To begin with, we must observe the most important duty Allah has prescribed to us,
Actions must lead to the cleansing of the heart of all that is displeasing to Allah. This might not be easy, especially for the younger generation.
which is devotion and worship. This is the first step for achieving closeness to Allah.
In a Qudsi hadith the Prophet reported that Allah says,
"..my servant does not come closer to Me with anything more dear to Me than that which I made obligatory upon him. My servant keeps coming closer to Me with more volunteer deeds, until I love him. When I love him, I become His ear by which he hears, his eyes by which he sees, his hand by which he holds and his foot by which he walks. If he asks Me anything I shall give him. If he seeks My protection I shall grant him My protection… "(Al-Bukhari 6021)
While performing correct worship, one must choose the way to piety and righteousness mentioned in the hadith; a major step of getting closer to Him the Almighty. The person who has taqwa or piety, is the one who is foremost in doing good and wants to be ahead of others in goodness.
(And the foremost are the foremost. These are they who are drawn nigh (to Allah). In the gardens of bliss.)(Al-Waqi`ah 56:10-12)
He remembers his humility in front of Allah, and knows he can call on Him with hope and fear. He desires much closeness to Him.
(Call on your Lord with humility and in private: for Allah loves not those who trespass beyond bounds. Do no mischief on the earth, after it hath been set in order, but call on Him with fear and longing (in your hearts): for the Mercy of Allah is (always) near to those who do good.) (Al-A`raf 7:55, 56)
Naturally, this person also knows that charity is another way to bring him closer to his Creator, for Allah loves those who give to the needy from their wealth and hates the hard fisted.
In a Qudsi hadith the Prophet reported that Allah says,
"Allah will say on the Day of Judgment, ... O son of Adam, I asked you for food and you fed Me not. He will say: O Lord, and how should I feed You when You are the Lord of the worlds? He will say: Did you not know that My servant so and so asked you for food and you fed him not? Did you not know that had you fed him you would surely have found that with Me? O son of Adam, I asked you to give Me to drink and you gave Me not to drink. He will say: O Lord, how should I give You to drink when You are the Lord of the worlds? He will say: My servant so and so asked you to give him to drink and you gave him not to drink. Had you given him to drink you would have surely found that with Me." (Muslim)

This person does all right deeds in order to bring himself closer to his Creator. If he does all this and still does not feel as close to Allah as he wants then he might look at his environment and those he befriends and the condition of his lifestyle. Are his/her friends neglectful of Allah and often engage in idle talk or activities which Allah dislike? Are members of his family busy spending most of their time at home in front of TV watching programs Allah dislikes and he participates with them? Are friends and family the cause of his weakness in religion? Is he/she dressed properly according to Islamic mose of dress as he/she likes?
The influence of a close friend is greater than one can imagine. One must take heed who he chooses as a close friend. Knowing our tendencies to incline to people and the worldly life, Allah warns us not to get side tracked.
( O ye who believe let not your riches or your children divert you from the Remembrance of Allah if any act thus, the loss is their own.) (Al-Munafiqun 63:9)
Actions must lead to the cleansing of the heart of all that is displeasing to Allah. This might not be easy, especially for the younger generation. Yet they must remember they are the torchbearers of Islam and they are the ones who can influence their peers better than older people. What a better blessing is it than one knowing that he is doing all he can to gain the pleasure of his Creator?
(Thus, then, if he be of those Nearest to Allah, there is for him Rest and Satisfaction, and a Garden of Delights.) (Al-Waqi`ah 56:88,89)
To maintain closeness with Allah, besides the above recommendations, one may engage in Dhikr or remembrance of Allah as often as one can
( O ye who believe remember Allah very often and glorify Him morning and evening.) (Al-Ahzab 33:41,42)
Dhikr empties the heart and the mind of impurities and brings a meaningful satisfaction to one's life.
(Behold in the Remembrance of Allah do hearts find satisfaction.)  (Ar-Ra`d 13: 28)
Finally, since we believe in the Word of Allah, we find the solution of closeness to our Creator is given to us by Him.
(Therefore remember Me, I will remember you.) (Al-Baqarah 2:152)

part 2: The Attributes of the Servants of the Most Gracious

Posted: Friday, December 10, 2010 by ZFCM in Labels:

(72. And those who do not bear witness to falsehood, and if they pass by some evil play or evil talk, they pass by it with dignity.) (73. And those who, when they are reminded of the Ayat of their Lord, fall not deaf and blind thereat.) (74. And those who say: "Our Lord! Bestow on us from our wives and our offspring the comfort of our eyes, and make us leaders of those who have Taqwa.'') (al-furqan)

These are further attributes of the servants of the Most Gracious. They do not bear witness to falsehood, including lies, immorality, disbelief, foul speech and false words. `Amr bin Qays said, this refers to gatherings of sexual immorality. It was said that the Ayah,

(And those who do not bear witness to falsehood,) refers to giving false testimony, which means lying deliberately to someone else. It was recorded in the Two Sahihs that Abu Bakrah said, "The Messenger of Allah said three times:
«أَلَا أُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِأَكْبَرِ الْكَبَائِرِ؟»
(Shall I not tell you of the greatest of major sins) We said, "Of course, O Messenger of Allah.'' The Messenger of Allah said:
«الشِّرْكُ بِاللهِ وَعُقُوقُ الْوَالِدَيْن»
(Associating others in worship with Allah and disobeying one's parents.) He was lying down, then he sat up and added:
«أَلَا وَقَوْلُ الزُّورِ، أَلَا وَشَهَادَةُ الزُّور»
(Beware false speech, and bearing witness to falsehood.) and he kept repeating it until we thought, would that he would stop.'' From the context it seems that what is meant by those who do not bear witness to falsehood is those who do not attend it or are not present when it happens. Allah says:
(and if they pass by some evil play or evil talk, they pass by it with dignity.) They do not attend where falsehood occurs, and if it so happens that they pass by it, they do not let it contaminate them in the slightest. Allah says:
(they pass by it with dignity.)
(And those who, when they are reminded of the Ayat of their Lord, fall not deaf and blind thereat.) This is also a characteristic of the believers,
(Those who, when Allah is mentioned, feel a fear in their hearts and when His Ayat are recited unto them, they increase their faith; and they put their trust in their Lord.) (8:2) Unlike the disbelievers. When they hear the Words of Allah, they are not affected by them or moved to change their ways. They persist in their disbelief, wrongdoing, ignorance and misguidance, as Allah says:
(And whenever there comes down a Surah, some of them say: "Which of you has had his faith increased by it'' As for those who believe, it has increased their faith, and they rejoice. But as for those in whose hearts is a disease, it will add doubt to their doubt) (9:124-125).
(fall not deaf and blind thereat.) means, unlike the disbelievers who, when they hear the Ayat of Allah, are not moved by them, but continue as they are, as if they did not hear them but are deaf and blind. His saying:
(And those who say: "Our Lord! Bestow on us from our wives and our offspring the comfort of our eyes...'') means those who ask Allah to bring forth from their loins offspring who will obey Him and worship Him and not associate anything in worship with Him. Ibn `Abbas said, "This means (offspring) who will strive to obey Allah and bring them joy in this world and the Hereafter.'' Imam Ahmad recorded that Jubayr bin Nufayr said: "We sat with Al-Miqdad bin Al-Aswad one day, and a man passed by and said, "How blessed are these two eyes which saw the Messenger of Allah ! Would that we had seen what you saw and witnessed what you witnessed.'' Al-Miqdad got angry, and I was surprised, because the man had not said anything but good. Then he turned to him and said, "What makes a man wish to be present when Allah had caused him to be absent, and he does not know how he would have behaved if he had been there By Allah, there are people who saw the Messenger of Allah , and Allah will throw them on their faces in Hell because they did not accept him or believe in him. Are you not grateful that Allah brought you forth from your mothers' wombs believing in your Lord and in what your Prophet brought, and that the test went to others and not to you Allah sent His Prophet during the most difficult time that any Prophet was ever sent, after a long period of ignorance, when the people could see no better religion than the worship of idols, and he brought the Criterion which distinguishes truth from falsehood and which would separate a father from his son. A man would realize that his father, son or brother was a disbeliever, and since Allah had opened his heart to Faith, he knew that if his relative died he would go to Hell, so he could not rest knowing that his loved one was in the Fire. This is what Allah referred to in the Ayah,
(And those who say: "Our Lord! Bestow on us from our wives and our offspring the comfort of our eyes...'') Its chain of narrators is Sahih, although they did not report it.
(and make us leaders of those who have Taqwa.) Ibn `Abbas, Al-Hasan, As-Suddi, Qatadah and Rabi` bin Anas said: "Leaders who would be taken as examples in good.'' Others said: "Guides who would call others to goodness.'' They wanted their worship to be connected to the worship of their children and offspring, and their guidance to go beyond themselves and benefit others. This would be more rewarding and a better end, as it was recorded in Sahih Muslim from Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah said:
«إِذَا مَاتَ ابْنُ آدَمَ انْقَطَعَ عَمَلُهُ إِلَّااِمنْ ثَلَاثٍ: وَلَدٍ صَالِحٍ يَدْعُو لَهُ، أَوْ عِلْمٍ يُنْتَفَعُ بِهِ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ، أَوْ صَدَقَةٍ جَارِيَة»
(When a son of Adam dies, his deeds cease apart from three: a righteous child who will pray for him, knowledge from which others may benefit after him, or ongoing charity.)

The Attributes of the Servants of the Most Gracious

from tafsir of ibnu kathir:
63.And the servants of the Most Gracious are those who walk on the earth Hawna, and when the foolish address them they say; "Salama.'') (64. And those who spend the night in worship of their Lord, prostrate and standing.) (65. And those who say: "Our Lord! Avert from us the torment of Hell. Verily, its torment is ever an inseparable, permanent punishment.'') (66. Evil indeed it is as an abode and as a place to rest in.) (67. And those who, when they spend, are neither extravagant nor stingy, but are in a just balance between them.                  (al-Furqan)

These are the attributes of the believing servants of Allah,

(those who walk on the earth Hawna,) meaning that they walk with dignity and humility, not with arrogance and pride. This is like the Ayah:
﴿وَلاَ تَمْشِ فِى الاٌّرْضِ مَرَحًا﴾
(And walk not on the earth with conceit and arrogance...) (17:37). So these people do not walk with conceit or arrogance or pride. This does not mean that they should walk like sick people, making a show of their humility, for the leader of the sons of Adam (the Prophet) used to walk as if he was coming downhill, and as if the earth were folded up beneath him. What is meant here by Hawn is serenity and dignity, as the Messenger of Allah said:
«إِذَا أَتَيْتُمُ الصَّلَاةَ فَلَا تَأْتُوهَا وَأَنْتُمْ تَسْعَونَ، وَأْتُوهَا وَعَلَيْكُمُ السَّكِينَةُ فَمَا أَدْرَكْتُمْ مِنْهَا فَصَلُّوا، وَمَا فَاتَكُمْ فَأَتِمُّوا»
(When you come to the prayer, do not come rushing in haste. Come calmly and with tranquility, and whatever you catch up with, pray, and whatever you miss, make it up.)
(and when the foolish address them they say: "Salama.'') If the ignorant people insult them with bad words, they do not respond in kind, but they forgive and overlook, and say nothing but good words. This is what the Messenger of Allah did: the more ignorant the people, the more patient he would be. This is as Allah says:
﴿وَإِذَا سَمِعُواْ اللَّغْوَ أَعْرَضُواْ عَنْهُ﴾
(And when they hear Al-Laghw (evil or vain talk), they withdraw from it) (28:55). Then Allah says that their nights are the best of nights, as He says:
﴿وَالَّذِينَ يِبِيتُونَ لِرَبِّهِمْ سُجَّداً وَقِيَـماً ﴾
(And those who spend the night in worship of their Lord, prostrate and standing.) meaning, worshipping and obeying Him. This is like the Ayat:
﴿كَانُواْ قَلِيلاً مِّن الَّيْلِ مَا يَهْجَعُونَ - وَبِالاٌّسْحَـرِ هُمْ يَسْتَغْفِرُونَ ﴾
(They used to sleep but little by night. And in the hours before dawn, they were asking for forgiveness) (51:17-18).
(Their sides forsake their beds...) (32:16).
(Is one who is obedient to Allah, prostrating himself or standing during the hours of the night, fearing the Hereafter and hoping for the mercy of his Lord...) (39:9). Allah says:
(And those who say: "Our Lord! Avert from us the torment of Hell. Verily, its torment is ever an inseparable punishment.'') meaning, ever-present and never ending. Al-Hasan said concerning the Ayah,
(Verily, its torment is ever an inseparable, permanent punishment.) Everything that strikes the son of Adam, then disappears, does not constitute an inseparable, permanent punishment. The inseparable, permanent punishment is that which lasts as long as heaven and earth. This was also the view of Sulayman At-Taymi.
(Evil indeed it is as an abode and as a place to rest in.) means, how evil it looks as a place to dwell and how evil it is as a place to rest.
(And those who, when they spend, are neither extravagant nor stingy...) They are not extravagant, spending more than they need, nor are they miserly towards their families, not spending enough on their needs. But they follow the best and fairest way. The best of matters are those which are moderate, neither one extreme nor the other.
(but are in a just balance between them.) This is like the Ayah,
(And let not your hand be tied to your neck, nor stretch it forth to its utmost reach.)(17:29)

(68. And those who invoke not any other god along with Allah, nor kill such person as Allah has forbidden, except for just cause, nor commit illegal sexual intercourse -- and whoever does this shall receive Athama.) (69. The torment will be doubled for him on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide therein in disgrace;) (70. Except those who repent and believe, and do righteous deeds; for those, Allah will change their sins into good deeds, and Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.) (71. And whosoever repents and does righteous good deeds; then indeed he has repented to Allah Mataba.) (al-furqan)

Imam Ahmad recorded that `Abdullah bin Mas`ud said, "The Messenger of Allah was asked which sin is the most serious'' He said:
«أَنْ تَجْعَلَ للهِ نِدًّا وَهُوَ خَلَقَك»
(That you appoint a rival to Allah when He has created you.) He asked, "Then what'' He said:
«أَنْ تَقْتُلَ وَلَدَكَ خَشْيَةَ أَنْ يَطْعَمَ مَعَك»
(That you kill your child for fear that he may eat with you.) He said, "Then what'' He said:
«أَنْ تُزَانِي حَلِيلَةَ جَارِك»
(That you commit adultery with your neighbor's wife.) `Abdullah said, "Then Allah revealed, confirming that:
﴿وَالَّذِينَ لاَ يَدْعُونَ مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلَـهَا ءَاخَرَ﴾
(And those who invoke not any other god along with Allah....)'' This was also recorded by An-Nasa'i, and by Al-Bukhari and Muslim. It was narrated that Sa`id bin Jubayr heard Ibn `Abbas saying that some of the people of Shirk killed a great deal and committed Zina a great deal, then they came to Muhammad and said: "What you are saying and calling people to is good, if only you would tell us that there is a way to expiate for what we have done.'' Then the Ayah:
(And those who invoke not any other god along with Allah...) was revealed, as was the Ayah,
(Say: "O My servants who have transgressed against themselves!'') (39:53).
(and whoever does this shall receive Athama.) It was recorded that `Abdullah bin `Amr said: "Athama is a valley in Hell.'' `Ikrimah also said that Athama refers to valleys in Hell in which those who commit unlawful sexual acts will be punished. This was also narrated from Sa`id bin Jubayr and Mujahid. As-Suddi said that Athama referred to punishment, which is closer to the apparent meaning of the Ayah. This interpretation makes it interchangeable with what comes next, the Ayah:
﴿يُضَـعَفْ لَهُ الْعَذَابُ يَوْمَ الْقِيـمَةِ﴾
(The torment will be doubled for him on the Day of Resurrection,) i.e., repetitive and intensified.
(and he will abide therein in disgrace;) scorned and humiliated.
(Except those who repent and believe, and do righteous deeds;) means, those who do these evil deeds will be punished in the manner described,
(Except those who repent), that is; those who repent in this world to Allah from all of those deeds, for then Allah will accept their repentance. This is evidence that the repentance of the murderer is acceptable, and there is no contradiction between this and the Ayah in Surat An-Nisa':
﴿وَمَن يَقْتُلْ مُؤْمِناً مُّتَعَمِّداً﴾
(And whoever kills a believer intentionally) (4:93), because even though this was revealed in Al-Madinah, the meaning is general, and it could be interpreted to refer to one who does not repent, because this Ayah states that forgiveness is only for those who repent. Moreover Allah says:
(Verily, Allah forgives not that partners should be set up with Him, but He forgives except that to whom He wills) (4:48). And in the authentic Sunnah, it is reported from the Messenger of Allah that the repentance of a murderer is acceptable, as was stated in the story of the person who killed one hundred men and then repented, and Allah accepted his repentance, and other Hadiths.
(for those, Allah will change their sins into good deeds, and Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.) Imam Ahmad recorded that Abu Dharr, may Allah be pleased with him, said, "The Messenger of Allah said:
(I know the last person who will be brought forth from Hell, and the last person who will enter Paradise. A man will be brought and it will be said, "Take away his major sins and ask him about his minor sins.'' So it will be said to him: "On such and such a day, you did such and such, and on such and such a day, you did such and such.'' He will say, "Yes, and he will not be able to deny anything.'' Then it will be said to him: "For every evil deed you now have one good merit.'' He will say: "O Lord, I did things that I do not see here.'') He (Abu Dharr) said: "And the Messenger of Allah smiled so broadly that his molars could be seen.'' Muslim recorded it. Ibn Abi Hatim recorded that Abu Jabir heard Makhul say, "A very old man with sunken eyes came and said, `O Messenger of Allah, a man betrayed others and did immoral deeds, and there was no evil deed which he did not do. If (his sins) were to be distributed among the whole of mankind, they would all be doomed. Is there any repentance for him'' The Messenger of Allah said:
«أَأَسْلَمْتَ؟»
(Have you become Muslim) He said, "As for me, I bear witness that there is no God but Allah Alone, with no partner or associate, and that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger.'' The Prophet said:
«فَإِنَّ اللهَ غَافِرٌ لَكَ مَا كُنْتَ كَذَلِكَ، وَمُبَدِّلُ سَيِّئَاتِكَ حَسَنَات»
(Allah will forgive you for whatever you have done like that, and will replace your evil deeds with good merits.) The man said: "O Messenger of Allah, even my betrayals and immoral actions'' The Prophet said:
«وَغَدَرَاتُكَ وَفَجَرَاتُك»
(Even your betrayals and immoral actions.) "The man went away saying `La ilaha illallah' and `Allahu Akbar.''' Allah tells us how His mercy extends to all His creatrues, and that whoever among them repents to Him, He will accept his repentance for any sin, great or small. Allah says:
(And whosoever repents and does righteous good deeds; then indeed he has repented to Allah Mataba.) meaning, Allah will accept his repentance. This is like the Ayat:
﴿وَمَن يَعْمَلْ سُوءاً أَوْ يَظْلِمْ نَفْسَهُ ثُمَّ يَسْتَغْفِرِ اللَّهَ يَجِدِ اللَّهَ غَفُوراً رَّحِيماً ﴾
(And whoever does evil or wrongs himself but afterwards seeks Allah's forgiveness, he will find Allah Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful) (4:110).
(Know they not that Allah accepts repentance from His servants...) (9:104).
(Say: "O My servants who have transgressed against themselves! Despair not of the mercy of Allah.'') (39:53) - for those who repent to Him.
(72. And those who do not bear witness to falsehood, and if they pass by some evil play or evil talk, they pass by it with dignity.) (73. And those who, when they are reminded of the Ayat of their Lord, fall not deaf and blind thereat.) (74. And those who say: "Our Lord! Bestow on us from our wives and our offspring the comfort of our eyes, and make us leaders of those who have Taqwa.'') ( Al-Furqan)

I tried to write a post in Bahasa Melayu, but it took longer time than I thought for the ideas to emerge. Unfortunately, my English is a kindergarten level ( My previous lecture told me that). So, I have no choice but to write in English.

Today, I just rest under a tree, with two of my friends after zhuhur prayer. We were having a little chat, meanwhile waiting for the KIOSK( shops) to open. Surprisingly, the minature tree that barely kept us from glaring sun managed to provide a comfortable resting place. Honestly, my head is directly stroke by the heat of the sun. But , I only feel a fresh breeze of air not too hot, and not too cool. After a few minutes, it felt like I just having a good nap without closing my eyes. What a blessing from Allah. Alhamdulillah.

How a little thing can provide a very fresh and refreshing atmosphere. But not laptop, even a few minutes I feel trapped, constricted, I hate this virtual world but today this is the main tool for information. For me, this a proof that human cannot run from the fitrah. My mind has been set up to like the trees, rains, and all the beautiful things that Allah has created.

Art has make me more conscious about the beauty of nature. When I see something, I cannot stop but to admire how beautiful it is. Can you ever imagine world without colors?? how dull it is. Can you ever imagine world without light?? I am now learning to master pencil drawing techniques. My works are far of the mark, I cannot capture the awesome moment with my hands. The blending of the shadows, and the light rays and reflections. Too hard for me express this into my works.

eap madness. Dilemma

it is 3 in the morning, and i am sleepy. But, i am worry about my english for academic purposes a.k.a eap. I do research on the safety of aspartame. It is an interesting chemical, and lots of unsettled controversies since its approval by u.s fda in 1974. Oh, by the way, i should have mention this earlier, its a sugar an artificial one. Huh... There are so many postulates that we can consider them to be a myth. Well, there are no concrete truth about aspartame. I want the research paper or the primary source of the experimental result of aspartame. Cant found any that really convince me aspartame is the culprit causing all those creepy symptoms i.e migrain, multiple sclerosis, cancer..
Quite mental here. Which is the truth? Arghh... Need to read more and compare. Anyhow, now i cant sleep. Even consider not sleep at all. Not only eap, there are several other issues left untouch waited to be solved. My brain is still working, just become more weird than it usually is. It started with it questioning about the rain drop shape, and now the comparison between spectacled and normal person field of vision. For normal it have to be 200 degree(horizontally) for me? Its 140 degree. 60 degree different. More hillarious. For a normal person, 1 eyes is equal to 160 degree. More than i can see with both of my eyes open. -the figure is just approximation, but it does compute. If i keep posting this unnoticed simple things, i think it is kind of annoying to read. Btw, regarding the field of view, i dont do futher research on it, just a theory that seems logical. I did measure my own field of view.haha up next is: is the length of a stride or step is related to the height of a person? If yes how can we knw its a stride or a step? And can we also know the height of the person ? Assume that, he or she walk on a soft ground good enough to leave a trace. This will take quite a time. Who knew let me know it.
Everything is now new to me, its only this recently i realize i have overlooked too many beautiful things i.e drops of water.

adopting new believe

as a human, i am open to error. So do u people. No one is free from mistake. But this is not an excuse for poor result, as we can strive to reduce the mistake. Throughout my life i have to alter my believes for its dont suit the truth. It is hard to change my believes after years holding to it, practising it, but when the truth comes to me, the only choice i have is to follow it. I believe that, a crazy person is not some lunatic that being detained and medicated in asylum, but the real one is who know the truth but reject it.
When our thnking is founded by our former believes, that have just recently proven to be deviated from the truth. Realizing it can create an immediate dilemma which at the first stage we try to defend our believe with so many made up reasons that are non-logical to any healthy mind. But eventually, when more informations fill in, the clearer the flaw of the former believe and the soundness of its successor.
Without any reason that is in phase with the person knowledge,- we explain similar things to a child and an adult but with different reasons to reach nearly similar understanding- the reason will not help the person to adopt the new believe even if it is the correct one. Each person has their own capacity and tools to understand things. Wallahu'alam

How to Attain Sincerity (Ikhlas)

Question
As-Salaam `Alaykum. I have an intriguing question. I wonder: how could a Muslim attain sincerity concerning the actions he does both in private and public? How could I, as a Muslim, attain that?

Answer
Wa`alaykum As-Salaamu Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh.

In The Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

All praise and thanks are due to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger.

Dear questioner, thank you very much for having confidence in us, and we hope our efforts, which are purely for Allah's Sake, meet your expectations. We implore Allah to grant you sincerity and to reward you generously.

Indeed, sincerity to Allah cannot be accomplished without knowledge. Knowledge is the first step for building character and personality. When a Muslim acquires knowledge he becomes capable to recognize how he should be devoted to Allah. Sincerity means having no other goal in one’s life other than pleasing Allah.

In his response to the question, Dr. Salah Sultan, President of Islamic American University (IAU) and professor of Islamic Jurisprudence, Cairo University, states the following:

“Sincerity is achieved when Muslim brothers or sisters have the intention to please Allah Almighty in all their endeavors whether in speech or action. The Muslim seeks generous rewards from Allah Almighty without considering any other motives. He or she does not try to gain worldly favors in terms of self promotion or personal interests. In this way, the Muslim will always serve the Islamic faith and thought, rather than being subservient to short term benefits.

Hence, sincerity is the first key that opens the heart to receive the Mercy of Allah Almighty. In fact the acceptance of one’s deeds depends on one’s purity of intention, which in turn depends on the level of sincerity in one’s heart. With sincerity, a person can attain the highest ranks in the Sight of Allah Almighty, make the most of his/her deeds, and even be rewarded for righteous deeds that he or she was not able to perform.

On the other hand, without sincerity (which results from not taking care of the heart) a person may end up in Hell-Fire regardless of how righteous one’s deeds appear to be. What is the evidence for this statement?

1-Al-Hakim reported in Al-Mustadrak that Anas ibn Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, quoted the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, as saying: “Whoever leaves this world with sincerity to Allah Almighty, the One and Only, and performs the prayers and pays the Zakah will die in the pleasure of Allah.” (Reported by Al-Bukhari and Muslim)

Imam Muslim narrated on the authority of Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Three categories of people will be the first to be thrown into Hell-Fire: a scholar who taught people merely to be praised as a scholar; a generous person who gave charity just to be called generous; and a person who participates in Jihad to be recognized as brave.”

In order to avoid losing the rewards of our deeds, we should pay attention to our hearts in three stages:

Firstly, before starting to do anything, ask yourself: am I doing this to please Allah Almighty and to seek His Forgiveness and reward, or am I doing it to impress people and seek their praise? If you have any doubt about the sincerity of that task, then you should renew your intention and free it from anything that would interfere with sincerity.

On the other hand, if it is sincere, you will feel ease and comfort deep in your heart, and therefore you should go ahead with that task with full confidence.

Secondly, while still engaged in a given task, a person may encounter interference from his vain desires or Satan. One may like to be seen while engaged in that task. There is nothing wrong with people seeing you while doing a task for the sake of Allah Almighty. But if love of publicity and praise dominates one’s actions, then there is cause for concern because this may lead to the rejection of that deed by Allah Almighty. A good indication of sincerity is the similarity of a person’s behavior in the presence of people and in their absence.

Thirdly, after completing an assignment or a job, do not continue to boast about your role in it. This feeling becomes particularly obvious if somebody wrongs you or someone is chosen for a position you were seeking, and you resort to hurting that person by defaming him. This course of action destroys your good deeds and will turn out to be detrimental to you.

Here are some criteria that indicate to us whether we are on the right track to sincerity and the pleasure of Allah Almighty.

Signs of Sincerity

- To have good intentions before starting a task.
-Habits are changed by acts of worship
- To perfect one’s duty in private and in public.
- To dislike being praised by others, with the Du`aa: “O Allah, forgive me for what they do not know about me, and make me better than what they think of me.”
- To welcome advice from friends.
- To not seek leadership and not nominate yourself for positions of authority.
- To be constantly mindful of one’s shortcomings, and to advise or wish others well.
- To feel that your contribution is minimal compared to others.
- To love performing the Fajr, Ishaa’, and night prayers.
- To prefer giving charity in secret.

These are some of the signs of sincerity (ikhlas). We therefore have to exert ourselves to achieve sincerity because it is a great loss to work hard and end up losing everything.

As for those with sincere hearts, they will attain the highest levels of Paradise. Allah describes them: “Say: ‘Verily, I am commanded to serve God with sincere devotion; and I am commanded to be the first of those who bow to God in Islam.” (Az-Zumar: 11-12).

Being the first of Muslims means realizing happiness in this world and the highest levels of Paradise in the Hereafter. Therefore make a solemn promise to Allah to make your soul display sincerity, such that it becomes a natural part of your existence. In this way, we will possess the key to the heart, which subsequently makes our acts of worship a very pleasant experience. Only those who are endowed with this quality can feel its effect on the person.

Finally, I implore Allah Almighty to make us among the sincere, who are mindful of Allah without others knowing about it. The people with this characteristic perform their duties without others knowing who they are.

On the other hand, when they are absent, people don’t know much about them since they do not care about publicity. They are the keys to guidance whom Allah uses to guide those who have gone astray.

We seek refuge with Allah to save us from the vain desires of the soul and the temptations of Satan.”
